Oats are a healthy, versatile food that can be eaten at any meal from breakfast to dinner (added to meatloaf or as a topping for crumbles). Here are some ideas to eat more healthy oats.
Make ahead Oats and Strawberry Breakfast for Two
½ cup SOUR SUPREME®
2 Tbsp maple syrup
1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
½ cup of oats
In a small bowl, add maple syrup to SOUR SUPREME® and stir. Take two clean Mason jars and in each jar add: 1/4 cup of oats, top with the half of the SOUR SUPREME® mixture and ½ cup of strawberries. Store in the fridge overnight. In the morning take a spoon and stir mixture together to mix. Add a bit of coconut or almond mix as desired and enjoy.
Mixed Fruit Oatmeal Crisp
1 bag mixed frozen berries (thawed)
½ cup sugar
¼ cup non-dairy margarine or vegetable oil
¾ cup brown sugar
1 ½ cups oats
1 tsp cinnamon

Thaw berries and pour the entire bag into a 9 x 9 glass baking pan or large oven-proof casserole dish. Sprinkle with ½ cup white sugar.
In a bowl mix together the oil or margarine, brown sugar, cinnamon and stir together with a fork until mixture is crumbly. Spoon topping over fruit. Bake in 350-degree F oven for 35 minutes. Serve with TOFUTTI PREMIUM® non-dairy frozen dessert
Family Favourite Meatloaf
A quick throw together meal which can be made the night before and cooked for an hour when you get home. Serve with a green salad.
2 lb of lean ground beef
1 egg, whipped with a fork
¼ cup of ketchup
½ cup of oatmeal (l minute or Quick Oats)
Salt and pepper
Topping: ½ cup BBQ sauce
Serve with SOUR SUPREME®
Preheat oven to 350-degrees Fahrenheit.
In a large mixing bowl add the meat, beaten egg, ketchup, oatmeal, salt and pepper and stir together with a large wooden spoon or use your hands. Press mixture into a lightly greased large loaf pan. Spread evenly. Spread BBQ sauce over top of the loaf. Bake one hour or until meat is cooked through. Cut into slices and serve with a dollop of SOUR SUPREME®
