No doubt about it, children love to have their sandwiches cut into cute shapes with cookie cutters, sliced into quarters or rolled up and sliced, pinwheel style. It’s so easy to do using TOFUTTI BETTER THAN CREAM CHEESE® as a base for all sorts of delicious sandwiches. Cut the crusts off two slices of whole wheat or gluten-free bread, spread with TOFUTTI BETTER THAN CREAM CHEESE®.
Add two or three baby Gherkin pickles, baby dills or olives along one edge of the bread and roll up. Use a dab of cream cheese to seal or use a toothpick if necessary to hold the sandwich together as you cut the sandwich “roll” into thin round slices. Remove toothpick and wrap the sandwich slices in waxed paper or plastic wrap to keep them fresh and then pack the sandwich rolls into a lunchbox or plastic containers.

Spoon out a container of TOFUTTI BETTER THAN CREAM CHEESE® Herbs & Chives into a large ovenproof bowl or glass pie plate. Top the dairy-free cream cheese with a quarter of a cup of refried beans, three-quarters of a cup of salsa, finely sliced scallions, and salt and pepper to taste.
Place bowl or plate in oven at 350 degrees F and bake for eight to 10 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool slightly. You may want to double this recipe and make two batches as surely you will want to dig into the dip right then and there! If you wish to save the dip for a lunch treat, it can be served hot or cold. To serve hot, pack a portion of the dip into a ramekin which can be heated slightly in a microwave. For children’s lunches, pack the dip cold into small plastic containers. Also pack containers with baby carrots, celery, red pepper rings or cucumber slices, along with some crackers or tortilla chips.
