Did you know that Tofutti Better Than Cream Cheese can be used in place of regular cream cheese for a non-dairy treat? Spread it on bagels or crackers, or use it in recipes at a one-to-one ratio to replace regular cream cheese.

Tofutti Sour Supreme can also be used on its own or in recipes calling for regular sour cream.

During the week, breakfast needs to be quick and simple for busy people on the go. But on weekends, we can relax and enjoy a good breakfast with our family and friends. Here are some ideas for both weekdays and weekends.

Fresh Fruit Shake

1 cup almond milk, or any type of non-dairy milk

1 cup Tofutti Sour Supreme

2 bananas

2 cups mixed berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries)

4 ice cubes

In a blender, add almond milk and Sour Supreme. Mix until combined. Break bananas into chunks and add to blender. Slice or chop strawberries and add to blender, along with blueberries and raspberries. Blend until mixture is puréed. Add ice cubes and blend again until thick and creamy. Serve in tall glasses. Serves 4.

Banana Split Pancakes

For pancakes:

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

2 tbsp granulated sugar

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

1 egg

1 cup Tofutti Sour Supreme

3 tbsp vegetable oil

2 large bananas, cut into rounds

1/4 cup chocolate chips

For non-dairy “whipped cream”:

1/2 cup Tofutti Sour Supreme

1/2 cup Tofutti Better Than Cream Cheese

In large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder and salt. In a separate bowl, using a fork, mix together egg, 1 cup Tofutti Sour Supreme and 2 tbsp of oil. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir with a wooden spoon until mixed together. Batter should be somewhat thick and lumpy. If too thick, add 1 tbsp of water.

In a medium bowl, using a hand mixer, whip together 1/2 cup Sour Supreme and Tofutti Better Than Cream Cheese. Refrigerate whipped topping until ready to serve pancakes.

Heat large frying pan on medium heat. Add 1 tbsp of oil and turn pan to coat. Using a soup ladle, scoop one ladle of batter into heated pan. Cook 2 to 3 minutes or until bubbles begin to appear on the surface. Using a spatula, flip pancake to the other side and cook another 2 minutes, or until second side is golden. Repeat steps to make more pancakes.

To serve: Place one or more pancakes on a dinner plate. Place sliced bananas on pancake and top with a dollop of whipped topping. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Serve with maple syrup.

Bagel and Lox With Non-dairy Cream Cheese

4 bagels

1 container Tofutti Better Than Cream Cheese

Dill, fresh or dried

1 package smoked salmon lox

Slice bagels in half and then toast until golden brown. In a mixing bowl, add Tofutti Better Than Cream Cheese and dill and mix with a fork to blend. Spread toasted bagels with dill “cream cheese” mixture, top with one or two thin slices of smoked salmon, and garnish with another sprinkle of dill.
